The war in Iraq was ugly, but the country of Iraq was not. I’ve never seen a more perfect sunset than when I was in the turret of a gun truck. The horizon lamented the turmoil in the land with scarlet and crimson to a degree I may never see again. It’s as if she were mourning the loss of our humanity, all while reminding us of our insignificance in history. The same dirt Jonah and Abraham walked on now swirled in my Wiley x ballistic goggles.
I love your gift to express in words the deep eternal truths that strengthen my faith. "For His invisible attributes, namely his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made." Rom. 1:20
I think it’s why I like swamps and marshes so much, we scoff at its dirtiness but up close it’s rich with wonder. Life has a way of doing that but we busy ourselves with getting by and forget to take time for awe.

Thank you, hope you’ve been well!
Your words paint a vivid picture of the sand and the sunsets

The Christ we speak of was manifest long before Jesus in God's creation.
Beautiful words!!
Yes sir.
Love this. Your comment that beauty is always there as long as we look for it certainly rings true! Thanks for a great article. Love and Hugs!
Thanks for reading, it’s true, just we get in the way of seeing it sometimes.
Beautifully written, Stan.
Thank you! I pulled this one from one of Worth’s prompts from class.
Very familiar. I enjoyed hearing it in your voice.
