Lots of good conversations happen around a fire when everyone is facing in, watching the flames together, and each person is bathed in the fire’s glow and simultaneously draped in darkness. My favorite time at a firepit is late — when flames are long gone and the embers sparkle with each passing breeze.

I agree! There’s typically no pretense while hanging around a fire

Where I come from, we call that watching the "Hillbilly Television." One of the purest forms of entertainment there is!

Heck yea. I think we are like one county away from actually being considered hillbilly’s here hahaha

I love this. We put a fire place in our home in Fl. People questioned our sanity. It usually doesn’t get cold enough to have a fire. True, but the reason I wanted it was for the very reasons you shared. Thank you!

That’s awesome! I want to eventually convert our gas log fireplace into wood burning. We’ve never used it and I’m curious if it’s even possible haha

I would think it would as long as there are no holes in the mortar in the chimney.

I just wanted to let you know that I had someone ask about your book today, it is a Christmas gift for her husband.

Oh awesome! I hope they enjoy it

I think we find peace when looking into a fire. I remember way back to my Boy Scout days in FL. Sitting around the campfire telling stories and sharing. Good memories. Somehow God calms my spirit then and now. Love and Hugs!!

It’s something that has to be programmed in us all. So cool.
